Topsy Turvy

My boobs are lopsided. The right breast — Rochelle — is a real champion at milk production. She is cranking out 1.5 ounces every 2-3 hours. The left breast — Lucielle — is not keeping up. I thought it was the clogged duct but that has cleared and she is still underproducing, even after days of extra pumping time.

Is this normal? If you have pumped or breastfed, does one boob out-produce the other?

Baby S was back to his birth weight in only 10 days, and is the picture of health.

I was also back to my pre-pregnancy weight a week after giving birth. As of today, I even managed to lose 2 pounds. It is easy to lose your pregnancy weight when you only gain 11 pounds, right? Not an ideal situation (I was worried sick about Baby S’s growth), but it sure is nice to have one less thing to worry about.

Thank you for all of your kind comments regarding my father’s death. I am, all things considered, doing okay. Cuddling Baby S makes it easy to focus my priorities and not to dwell in my negative emotions. I appreciate everyone who stopped by and offered support.

Totally normal for one side to produce less milk than the other. šŸ™‚

Hooray for getting back to pre-preg weight!

    Glad you are doing okay!

My right side is producing at 20mls less than my left. (I found letting the baby nurse on that side produces less encourages more supply)

YAH for the weightloss. I hear ya.

I am glad Baby S is doing do well

I don’t know about production since I’m breastfeeding but T definitely prefers my left breast and it looks bigger most of the time.

My production is just the opposite of yours. My left produces about 1 1/2 – 2 ozs more than the right. I called the lactation lady and she said to start taking some herbs. They are so specifically to increase milk production, that when my DH went to get them, they GUY helping him knew what they were. Even the checkout lady commented that someone must have a new baby. Let me know if you want the names of them. I have only been using for less than 24 hours, so I don’t know the results yet.

I usually make more milk on my left than my right. It’s not uncommon from what I hear. That’s great you are back to your pre-preg weight! I am still working on my last 10 pounds. (I gained 30!!). šŸ˜‰
Baby S is so cute! I am glad you two are (three) enjoying eachother. šŸ˜‰

See! Remember you were thinking you wanted to lose weight before you got pregnant?? Now you are 2 pounds less than your pre-preg weight! That rocks. I hope that you and Mr. MC and Baby S are all doing well and had a great holiday.
